The work is based on Wald’s iconographic prototype of Adam and Eve I and II (1952) where Adam’s torso is replaced by an inner nucleus from which the male and female bodies are propelled in harmonious equilibrium. Their spiritualised bodies are incredibly attenuated and elongated, making the work much more lyrical and mystical in nature.
